Albany | Jeff Bergdoll

by Jeff Bergdoll
A mirror said to be over 150 years old holds items of memory. The photographs in the frame and on the night stand are only a small portion of items of memory that John Cooksey has collected.
John Cooksey, his grandson, J.D. Cooksey, and his son, James, sit on the porch of John’s house.
James Cooksey, “Uncle” John’s son, lights an oil heater in his living room.
“Uncle” John’s daughter-in-law, Vida, makes breakfast for him. She has fixed his meals over the last two years.
“Uncle” John takes a nap during the day.
Even at the age of 102, “Uncle” John Cooksey is able to do many things for himself.
