They are the All American Couple …. almost.
“She doesn’t even know how to use the washing machine,” Darren Bias said of his girlfriend Missy Bolt. For the most part, though, the two former high school sweethearts fit the all American mold. Being crowned prom king and queen and Missy being elected homecoming queen their senior year didn’t hurt.
“Annette (Morgan, a friend of Missy’s) talks about how at our 10-year reunion we’re going to be the perfect family,” Missy said.
Darren and Missy dated for about two years in high school and now attend Somerset Community College together. Their relationship has changed since their high school days, Missy said.
“We used to fight about everything in high school,” she said. Their disagreements are not quite as frequent and about more reasonable things now. One thing the two have no disagreement about is the future of their relationship. While marriage is not in the immediate future, both realize it may be a possibility. Dating other people is probably not in the future, either.
“If you’ve got what you want,” Darren said, “there’s no use blowing it for something that may not work.”
