Fay Willoughby does everything on a farm a man can do—sometimes more.
The 43-year-old Scottsville native loves working on the farm. She’s been doing it all her life.
“I was raised on the outside (of the house),” she said. “I don’t like inside work” like cooking and cleaning.
Although Fay is known for her farming, her most unusual characteristic is her love of tobacco. She has smoked cigarettes since she was a little kid. But now she loves chewing tobacco.
“I got some of my worst whippings over smoking,” she said. “My daddy would beat the fire out of me and as soon as he was gone I would light up another one.”
Fay isn’t just good at spitting tobacco, she’s great. “I entered a tobacco spitting contest once and came in third. Spit 30 feet.”
