Harold Stilts likes the people of Edmonton.
“I want to treat everybody like I want to be treated,” he said, driving to his chain-saw repair shop. Stilts has been repairing chain saws and lawn mowers for five years.
Much of his shop’s success, he said, comes from his concern and care for his customers. His philosophy of business is “to do somebody a good job and don’t try to rob them on price.”
Although he spends most of his day at the shop, Stilts’ daughter Susan, 12, and son Chris, 15, seem to fill much of his spare time.
“Even if I can’t be with ’em, they’re most important to me.”
Living most of his life in Edmonton, Stilts married his high school love, Patricia. They used to own a wood- mill. Later, Stilts worked at a hardware store before they opened Stilts Sales and Service.
He says his family is his driving force.
“They’re why I’m here,” he said smiling. “They make it worth it.”
Edmonton is special to him too, Stilts said.
“Everybody’s helping each other,” he said, “any way, any how.”
