Wading through the thick Cumberland County fog at 4:30 in the morning, 23-year-old dairy farmer Wendell Norris was hard to keep up with at times as he herded the cows in for their morning milking.
His long stride and brisk walk proved to be typical of his working ethic.
“I could never work in a factory on an assembly line,” Norris said. “I have to be free; I like to work outside.”
Norris said he wanted to have his own farm and he had a good start by owning a few head of Brown Swiss prize cows and bulls.
