For decades, the Ohio River has served as the life blood of this river community but as commerce was redirected towards trucking, the downtown Owensboro community began a slow death. In recent years, a redevelopment effort of the water front has served to bring life and vitality to Owensboro. Thirteen primary and high school teachers from seven school districts across the state worked on this project.
