Terri’s Girls

G&G&Sons apartment complex maintenance technician, Keith Riley, makes a phone call to his mother from a neighbors phone fished over the second story balcony. "It's down to earth," said Riley about the complex. "No one tries to be better than anyone else. We're here all making a living...getting by."

Ethan Brown, 10, of Belton, Ky., wrestles his shirt sleeve away from 1 -year-old Labrador, Abygus (aka Gus) while hanging out in Gus's Sports Club in Madisonville Friday evening. The 24-hour sports club, owned by his father, David, and the dog's name stem from a dog previously owned by David. "(The dog) is the manager," says Ethan, who hangs out at the business with the two every weekend. "It's kind of my dad's dog but she loves me more than she loves him."

Just past Elliot Memorial Gardens cemetary in Madisonville, Ky, lies G&G&Sons apartment complex, a place where many call home and have come from several backgrounds to form a "family".

The Gilberts, originally of Exeter, CA, moved to Madisonville after returning a borrowed car for her mother to Kentucky. Gerald quit his job and retired after they found a house in Kentucky and shortly after they purchased the buildings.
