Josh Pruitt

Josh Pruitt leans on a gate and watches his pet sheep, Legs, graze outside his pen behind the family home. Normally Pruitt sells the sheep he shows at the end of the year, but " Legs was on my Christmas list" so he stayed at the Pruitt home as a family pet.

Pruitt is an admitted overachiever as president of Kentucky 4-H and a top student at his school. "My ultimate goal would be U.S. senator," said Pruitt of Madisonville. "President...I don't know. If I was I would be the first one from Kentucky since Illinois is trying to steal Abe Lincoln from us."

Josh Pruitt, a 17 year old senior at Madisonville North Hopkins High School, is president of Kentucky 4-H in addition to being active in Future Farmers of America, Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Pennyrile Church of Christ.

Riding home from a pancake dinner at the Lions Club in Madisonville, Josh gazes out at farm land near his home. Although he participates in many agricultural organizations now, he intends to study pharmacy in college because he realizes it is hard to rely on farming for a living.
