Even if there are no customers, Randall finds work to do. On a slow Wednesday, he straightens cereal boxes.
Randall Nunn makes faces to cheer up his four-year-old granddaughter, Carlee Nunn, while playing around in the living room of his Hardyville home. After retiring from a life of farming, Randall Nunn, 70, just couldn't sit still. While the senior has been bagging groceries and stocking shelves at the local Houchens Markets, his son, Steve Nunn, has moved in next door and taken over the family farm.
The Louisville and Nashville Railroad runs through the heart of Cave City. The line, completed in 1858, brought goods, services and tourists to the town, helping the community grow. At night, a street light pierces the fog, illuminating the crossing at Gillenwater Street.
Dolores Nunn waits for her hair to dry during her weekly visit to Linda's Beauty Salon in Hardyville. The owner, Linda Richardson, displays her husband's horseshoe pitching trophies on the shelf.
Covered in a purple shroud and ivy, a wooden cross peers through the window from its seat on a windowsill inside Caveland Baptist Church.
