Burkesville | Cumberland County
The Western Kentucky University Photojournalism Program conducted documentary projects in Burkesville during the fall terms of 1980 and 1981. Original photographic prints from both years were later found stored together without separation or date-specific identifiers. Due to the inability to reliably distinguish the production year of individual images, the full set was accessioned into the 1981 archive. This designation also corresponds with the publication year of the first Mountain Workshops book.
